UPGRADE TO FormXP 2007-0412

This document is for users who are running FormXP 2007-0312 and want to upgrade to FormXP 2007-0412.

1. Upload new files

Below is the list of new files you need to use FTP to upload them to your formxp folder

• function.php
• index.php
• mailist.php
• survey_result.php
• survey.php
• poll.php
• admin/index.php
• admin/admin_ajax.js
• admin/admin_department.php
• admin/admin_email.php
• admin/admin_tellfriend.php
• admin/admin_survey.php
• admin/admin_poll.php
• admin/html/*.* - There are many new files in this folder, so please go ahead upload folder [html] to your web server
• languages/english_lang.php (Added new variables for Poll and Survey)
• new folder resource/browsers/*.*
• new folder resource/flags/*.*
• new folder resource/os/*.*
• new folder resource/question_type_icons/*.*
• new folder templates_poll/*.*
• new folder templates_survey/*.*

2. Update MySQL Database

After you upload new files above to your site, you have to upload the script update.php to formxp folder (same location with file function.php). Run the script on browser to update FormXP database. Run update.php like this: http://yoursite.com/formxp/update.php

3. Important

Once you have successfully updated to FormXP 2007-0412  you MUST ensure you remove file update.php. Leaving it  in place is a very serious potential security issue which may lead to deletion or alteration of files, etc.

Each month you should visit this link http://www.maxmind.com/download/geoip/database/ to download file GeoLiteCity.dat.gz (use Winzip to unzip this package you will see file GeoLiteCity.dat - This is IP2Location data file, we recommend you update it monthly. Visit http://www.maxmind.com/app/geolitecity for more information about GeoLite City)

For maximum security we recommend you should use .htaccess to protect directory formxp/admin

NOTE: The permission of file config2.php must always be set 777 - DO NOT change it back to 644
