Shimla, India
At one time the summer headquarters of the Indian Government during British rule,
Shimla is a large hillstation in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains. It's now
popular with tourists, especially Indian honeymooners.
Shimla gets snow in winter, and nearby are some ski facilities. Winding mountain
roads connect Shimla with all of Northern Himachal Pradesh, the high Himalayas
and the Tibet and Chinese borders. You can also reach Kashmir.

One way to reach it is by the 103 year old narrow guage railway, a 5 to 7 hour trip
If you go, be prepared to do a lot of walking. There are taxis, but they are not permitted in the main shopping areas.
